SDM- Leiann, how did this all come about? Did you just apply for the show because you were ready to love?
Leiann- My friend of 20 years plus sent me the flyer for the show asking Dallas locals to submit their application to be on the show. He watches the show regularly and texted me and said “You would be perfect for this show and if you don’t apply I am going to apply for you. “Several days later he confirmed that he submitted my application! I was contacted by a producer the following week and the process began. Without question, I am definitely dating with intention, and I am Ready to Love
SDM- Wow! That is awesome. What a friend! So how was it being on a reality show? You hear so many crazy things! Also, where was it filmed?
Leiann – Yes, he truly is a good friend to me and a good person! Wow I think during both the process of being selected and filming, I experienced a full range of emotions. Excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the show. Lots of anxiety leading up to the start of filming, and anticipation about meeting my cast members. Shoot days can be long and sometimes frustrating. However, I am extremely honored to be chosen for this project and to work with Lighthearted Entertainment, Will Packer Productions, and OWN Network; and of course very hopeful of finding my forever love!
The process took several months and multiple rounds of interviews with both the network and production. We filmed at various locations all around DFW.
SDM- What did you like about this experience the most and the least? How many episodes is it?
Leiann – I really enjoyed working with and getting to know the cast and production. Learning the internal workings of how reality shows are filmed was exciting. By far the elimination process is toughest on everyone and definitely my least favorite part of the show. However, despite the full range of emotions I experienced throughout process, overall, it was amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I believe the show will be 10-12 episodes followed by the reunion.
SDM- Well the BIG question is, did you find love? That is what we all want to know! In addition to that, what if anything did you learn about yourself while filming the show as it relates to love?
Leiann – Well you will have to tune in and watch the show to see if I found love! First, I want to say that I am so proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone and being open to experiencing this journey in front of the world. It’s so important for us all to continue to push ourselves to have new challenges and experiences. It is never too late to start a new life chapter or a new career.
I think the show helped me further clarify and reinforce my outlook on dating with intention. First, being open to receiving love and everything that comes with getting to know someone. It solidified my expectations and non-negotiables for my next relationship.
SDM- It is great that you were selected for the show! Do you know if you were the first person ever selected from Dallas? When should we tune in for the show? We do not want to miss it!
Leiann – Thank you so much again. I really do consider it an honor! The show will premiere Friday, July 7th at 7:00pm CST. Unfortunately, I do not have any details on the order in which the cast was selected or how we were chosen.
