Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B finally opened its doors in Southern Dallas on June 12th, and the parking lot has been packed ever since. This marks the first Joe V’s location in Dallas for the multi-format retailer, with plans to open the second location at the corner of Buckner Blvd. and Samuell St. in spring 2025.

One of those brands was family owned and operated Smokey John’s BBQ — who inked a partnership with the retailer to sell its signature BBQ rub, BBQ sauce, and exclusively its banana pudding. Owned by brothers Juan and Brent Reaves, who are also Oak Cliff natives — inking a deal for their grandmother’s banana pudding recipe, made their Joe V’s partnership even sweeter.“Being that we’re from Oak Cliff, this is a full circle moment for our family and the Smokey John’s BBQ brand,” said Brent Reaves, Co-Owner of Smokey John’s BBQ. “We’re excited to partner with Joe V’s in offering a selection of our signature items, but even more ecstatic to exclusively house our Grandmother’s banana pudding recipe at an establishment that has high quality food and principles. Through this partnership, we are able to give back to a neighborhood where we grew up, and that has meant so much to our entire family.”The Smokey John’s Banana Pudding is available at Joe V’s for $14.75 while supplies last.
