Dallas’ culinary community tipped its hat to the very best in food, culture and hospitality at the third annual Southern Taste of Dallas Awards held at On the Levee on Friday, July 24. Bringing together restaurant owners, chefs, food truck operators, media personalities and food enthusiasts from across North Texas, the evening celebrated the people and businesses shaping the region’s thriving culinary landscape.
This year’s theme, “Cowboy Culture,” invited guests to embrace Western-inspired couture with a luxe twist, setting the tone for an evening that was equal parts celebration, entertainment and Southern hospitality. Guests arrived on a red carpet complete with live horses before enjoying a VIP reception featuring live banjo music by renowned musician Jess Garland, culinary bites prepared by Chef Felicia Guimont, and the event’s signature “Triple D Sweet Tea,” crafted with sponsor SweetBeat Vodka.
Throughout the evening, attendees explored immersive experiences including custom hat making by Ken Randall Hats, handcrafted bolo tie shopping and interactive culinary activations before taking their seats for the awards presentation.
The ceremony opened with a powerful performance by Dallas Poet Laureate Black Caesar, setting an inspiring tone for the night before guests enjoyed live entertainment by Kkeeyz, HEYRU, Mxck Music, and other local performers. Midway through the program, a high-energy fashion presentation brought an unexpected creative flair to the celebration, showcasing the intersection of food, fashion and culture.
