Anthem Strong Families to Honor Community Titans at Champions in our Midst Luncheon

Pastor Richie and Neesha-Strambler Butler to serve as Honorary Chairs. Grammy-Award Winning Gospel Artist, Fred Hammond Announced as Featured Guest.

Anthem Strong Families will honor community titans who are committed to championing families at the 2024 Champions in our Midst luncheon presented by Texas Capital Bank and The AIDS Healthcare Foundation.  Honorary chairs are Pastor Richie and Neesha-Strambler Butler and Grammy-award winning gospel artist, Fred Hammond will serenade attendees with his signature spirit-filled melodies. This celebratory event will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Hall of State in Dallas’s Fair Park.

They are passionate about improving the lives of families in our county.”

 

Champions in our Midst is Anthem Strong Families signature luncheon honoring individuals, businesses and corporations that have chosen to be the champion for their families, constituents and employees. The honorees are members of the Dallas/Fort Worth community who are transforming lives, fashioning innovative family friendly policies and providing vision and courageous leadership to help families soar.

 

The following are the 2024 Distinguished awards and honorees:

 

  • The Paladin Award is the highest award and will be given to the family of the late Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (posthumously) for her life’s work to improve the health and safety of families and her unwavering support of women, equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout her career.
  • Warrior Award honoree is Teresa Coleman Wash, Founder/Executive Director, The Bishop Arts Theatre Center for her tireless work on behalf of youth and advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) through the lens of theatre.
  • Guardian Award recipients are Harry Robinson, Jr., CEO, The African American Museum for his leadership and legacy in archiving the history of African Americans and Dr. Philip Huang, Director, and Health Authority for the Dallas County Human Services Department for his leadership in keeping Dallas County residents’ community safe.
  • Hero Award honoree is Leonor Marquez, President/CEO Los Barios Unidos Community Clinic for game-changing community health achievements in West Dallas.
  • Family Award honoree is Dedrick Tubbs, a graduate of Anthem Strong Families’ TYRO program and founder of Konnect-to-Konnect to help under resourced youth.
