On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Dr. Tiffanie Spencer as the next superintendent of the district. A standing-room only crowd gave Dr. Spencer a huge round of applause and took photos and video as she signed her new contract.
Dr. Spencer thanked God, her family and her support system for helping her reach this point in her career and said she is excited to get to work.
“I’m going to lead with heart, and my focus is our people—students first, our staff and our Mansfield ISD community,” said Dr. Spencer. “We have great leaders who have come before us, and they set the foundation. I believe in Vision 2030, and its requirement of continuous improvement, but part of continuous improvement is moving. As an organization…as a person, you can’t stay the same that you were yesterday. The world is still moving. As a district, we are going to move in the same direction together. We’re going to grow together.”
The district held a meet-and-greet reception, at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts to formally welcome Dr. Spencer into her new role. Key members of the community and the district were there to honor her. The room was filled with family, friends and former coworkers who’ve known Dr. Spencer through the years.
Prior to being named superintendent, Dr. Spencer served MISD as Area Superintendent of Accountability and Special Populations in the Curriculum and Instruction Department. Throughout her career as a teacher, principal and area superintendent, Dr. Spencer has focused on strengthening academic outcomes, supporting educators, and building collaborative partnerships with families and communities. Her leadership approach emphasizes transparency, continuous improvement, and student-centered decision-making.
“Dr. Spencer has consistently demonstrated a clear vision for student success, a deep respect for educators, and a strong alignment with the values of the Mansfield ISD community,” said Board President Dr. Benita Reed. “We are confident her leadership will help advance our district’s mission and ensure continued excellence for our students and families.”
Dr. Spencer grew up in Mansfield and attended the district from third grade through graduation from Mansfield High School. She graduated from the University of Houston with her undergraduate degree, earned her Ed.D. from Texas A&M Commerce, and received a superintendent’s certificate from The University of Texas at Tyler.
Dr. Spencer’s official first day as Mansfield ISD’s new superintendent is Monday, March v1.
