School is in session this month and football season is approaching. It is essential that our kids know they have options beyond their athletic goals by excelling academically, which is vitally important. Former NFL Safety Myron Rolle was in the NFL league for a few years and moved on to accomplish his momentous goal of becoming a pediatric neurosurgeon. Kid athletes often view sports as their only avenue for career success and that is not factual. Our children have a wealth of talents to impart to the world beyond their skills on the field. Dr. Myron Rolle is a true testament! He had two goals in his notebook: When you grow up, 1) Play football in the NFL, and 2) Become a neurosurgeon.
