Dallas attorney and interior designer Chalon Clark officially celebrated her national television debut on July 9 with a red-carpet premiere party at Echo Lounge, where family, friends, community leaders and fellow cast members gathered to watch her shine on HGTV’s Renovation Resort Showdown.
More than 100 guests attended the celebration, which was emceed by Jazze Maxie of 97.9 FM The Beat. The evening welcomed notable attorneys, business leaders, creatives and community luminaries, along with the majority of Clark’s fellow Renovation Resort Showdown cast members, who traveled to Dallas to celebrate the milestone.
By day, Clark is a practicing attorney. Beyond the courtroom, she has built a thriving interior design business, Design Redefined, known for creating culturally curated spaces that tell a story. Her appearance on the hit HGTV competition marks another milestone in her growing influence within the design industry.
Hosted by renovation experts Scott McGillivray and Bryan Baeumler, Renovation Resort Showdown features four contractor and designer duos competing to transform waterfront cabins at a lakeside resort for a chance to win a $100,000 grand prize. Clark competes alongside friend and contractor Liz Truluck, balancing creativity, design excellence and real-world renovation challenges throughout the season.
“People are often surprised to learn that the same skills that make me successful as a trial lawyer translate directly into design,” Clark said. “Both requires listening carefully, solving complex problems, advocating for a vision, and paying attention to every detail. Whether I’m preparing for a trial or designing a space, my goal is the same: to create something intentional, impactful, and meaningful.”
Clark also hopes her journey inspires others to embrace every passion they possess.
“I hope I’m an inspiration to anyone who feels stuck in a career that no longer reflects everything they are,” she said. “Your passions don’t have to die because you’ve become successful in one area of life. You can make room for them. I’m still a trial lawyer, but I’ve also built a design business and now find myself on HGTV. You don’t have to choose just one version of yourself.”
Known for blending analytical thinking with creativity, Clark approaches every project by understanding her clients’ stories and transforming them into spaces that feel personal, functional and elevated. Her work has also been featured in Martha Stewart Living, House Beautiful and numerous other national publications.
For Dallas-Fort Worth, Clark’s television debut is more than a personal achievement—it’s another reminder that the region continues to produce creative talent making an impact on the national stage.
