Love, faith, and family were on full display as Concord Church hosted its 6th Grand Wedding on Saturday, September 20, 2025. More than 20 couples who had committed to the church’s 90-day “From Cohabitation to Covenant Challenge” were united in holy matrimony by Senior Pastor Bryan Carter, who first launched the initiative in 2009 to amplify God’s design for marriage and strengthen families.
“Our goal for this ministry is to amplify God’s design for marriage and to strengthen relationships and families,” said Pastor Carter. “These couples have done the work and taken a powerful step to move from partnership to covenant.”
The sanctuary radiated with joy as each couple was given their own spotlight while being pronounced husband and wife. Every moment reflected the splendor of a traditional wedding, complete with engagement photo displays, exquisite décor, first dances, a reception, professional photography, and more. Families and friends celebrated as the couples stepped into their new season of covenant marriage.
The festivities reached new heights with a special performance by national recording artist and Broadway star Avery Wilson, currently featured in The Wiz. Among those in attendance were celebrity couple David and Tamela Mann, who joined thousands of guests in witnessing this extraordinary expression of love and faith.
Thanks to the generosity of community partners including Misty’s Bridal, Mr. Tuxedo, James Avery, Pandora, Heaven’s Engraving, and volunteer beauty professionals, the couples paid nothing for their weddings. From gowns and tuxedos to rings and beauty services, every detail reflected excellence and dignity.
Since its inception, Concord’s Grand Wedding has united more than 100 couples in marriage, standing as a counter-narrative to stereotypes and affirming the power of faith, preparation, and community in building lasting families and legacies.
